In Opening Honest Dialogue: Developing Compassion in the Community through Shedding Light on Hard Topics, people from all over the world sent in their thoughts and perspectives regarding sensitive issues in our community, such as drinking alcohol and homosexuality. UC magazine also visited and spoke with Nurie Easter, a shining member in the Connecticut community who has recovered from drug use, and Yoshi and Fran Ichijo from Maryland, devoted coordinators of the special needs “Treasures of Heaven” ministry and parents to Kenji Ichijo, a Unificationist-born youth with special needs who has received the Holy Marriage Blessing. These stories all bring light to what we need to discuss to begin to build healing and support in our community.

To learn more about the Treasures of Heaven ministry or camps, contact Yoshi and Fran Ichijo at ichijoy@aol.com.
